Ardhchakrasana
The half moon yoga pose (Ardha Chandrasana) is a challenging standing balancing pose. It’s an intermediate pose, so make sure you’re familiar with the fundamentals of yoga and can perform Triangle Pose before attempting Half Moon. You would go from Triangle to Half Moon to Downward Facing Dog in a flow sequence.
How To Do Ardhchakrasana
Step 1
Stand straight and open the legs more than shoulder’s width
Step 2
Support the back at the waist with all the fingers together
Step 3
Drop the head backwards stretching the neck muscles
Benefits of Ardhchakrasana
- Makes spine flexible and strengthens the spinal nerves
- Strengthens the neck muscles, and improves breathing capacity
- Helps in cervical spondylitis
Cautions of Ardhchakrasana
- Avoid in case of vertigo or a tendency to giddiness
- Hypertensive patients shall bend with care
